Diversity Safety Watch – An ongoing project aims to stop violence and harassment in Canberra’s LGBTI community by collecting and recording the experiences of LGBTI people who have experienced aggression, discrimination and bullying based on their sexuality. We need to record this information to help us fight violence against the LGBTI community and to ensure action is taken to reduce homophobic or transphobic attacks in the ACT.
We are asking all LGBTI Canberrans to tell us about any discrimination, harassment, intimidation, physical or sexual violence you have experienced, which you believe is based on your sexuality or gender identity.
Where possible we encourage you to report for yourself either by speaking to patrols, to an AFP GLLO or to Crimestoppers. We know some people are not willing to talk to police directly so you can talk to us to help you. If need be we will pass on information regarding yourself a friend or a family member, and you can provide us with as little or as much detail as you are comfortable with. You can tell us about your experiences in the community, on the street, in or outside LGBTI, in your home, at work – anywhere!
Please help Diversity ACT to stop violence and harassment against the LGBTI community.
